Dionne has a BSc with Honors Cell & Molecular Bioscience received from Victoria University, Wellington New Zealand. She has recently completed her PhD titled "Bilirubin metabolism during arsenic toxicity of the liver: Involvement of murine cytochrome P450 2a5 and its human orthologue CYP2A6", wherein she investigated the role of specific cytochrome P450 enzymes in bilirubin oxidation during arsenic exposure and identified various metabolites formed.

Research Interests

Focusing on understanding the molecular and biochemical effects of environmental pollutants on cellular systems and their mechanism of action.

Selected Research Projects

  • Assessment of biological effects induced by oxidative stress.
  • Identification of the mammalian pathway for the cyanobacterial toxin Cynlidropspermopsin
