Veronika completed her bachelor degree in Environmental Management at the University of Giessen (Germany). The final research project for her Bachelor degree was focused on the impact from metal nanoparticle on environmentally relevant microorganisms. Veronika commenced an Entox traineeship in February 2012 in the Source and Fate of Micropollutants Group.

Veronika started her PhD in January 2013 on “processes governing surfactant facilitated transport of super-hydrophobic organic contaminants”. The study focuses on investigating the key mechanisms driving the transport of super-hydrophobic contaminants in soil facilitated by surfactants.  In January 2014 Veronika visited the Institute for Risk Assessment Sciences (IRAS) in Utrecht, Netherlands to investigate the effect of surfactants mixtures on critical micelle concentration and sorption behaviour as part of her PhD.
Veronika is funded by an International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (IPRS) and a University of Queensland Centennial Scholarship (UQCent).
